How to avoid territorially aggresiveness of your dog?

1. By following the advicefor avoiding dominant behaviour you will reduce the likehood of your dog developing a sense of self right to take the initiative in defending the family/pack and its territory

2. Do not ecourage your dog to stop him from barking because this natuarally occurs but if you reward it, it can get out of control.

3. Do not shout at your dog to stop him to bark because he will just think you are barking as well and bark with you.

4. Do encourage your dog to perform another task once he has let you know someone is there i.e. sit in his bed or go to another room and reward him when he does it, because once the dog associates another action with arrival of visitors he is less likely to become determined to guard the threshold.

5. It is best to put your dog in another room before strangers enter the house.

Sit them down and then bring him through to them and the reason is someone advancing over the threshold towards a dog can seem very threatening to him and may cause defensive behaviour. Following the rule removes the chance of your dog misinterpreting the situation.

6. Do give strangers a little treat to give to your dog because this teaches the dog that visitors you accept are pleasant and therefore he is more likely to accept them.

7. Remember some groups of people, such as postmen, are more vulnerable than others. Good management should prevent accidents, because these groups are more vulnerable not only because they come to the house regulary . The primary reason is that they go away once they have been to the door, the dog who barks at them thinks he has chased them off unable to know they did not want to come and this reinforces the territorial behaviour.

the risk of injury to the postmen etc, can be very real should they happen to meet.

What causes apprehensive aggression?

If a dog anticipates an unpleasant experience or feels threatened, e.g. if a child keeps pulling it’s ears, the dog may start to growl or snap defensively. This can escalate to the point where the dog will growl in anticipation when the child walks into the room.

Actually there are many diffrent ways to prevent these problems, hopefuly this article was helpful to you and keep on learning in order to get a better life for your dog!

Having to listen to mooesne else’s dog bark for hours on end is really annoying. I’d recommend that you be a good neighbor and keep them inside when you’re not home. If they are destructive or not housebroken, use a large dog cage.Depending on where you live, you can receive a fine for violating noise ordinances. If your dogs do not have food, water and shelter, you could have them seized by animal cruelty officers. It’s kinder to have them surgically debarked by a vet than to use shock collars or punishment. The bigger problem is that your dogs may be injured or poisoned by your frustrated neighbors.

This is pretty good, and it shows how owseame the Breed truly is. Watch this Awesome Dog Video and how great they are. We can even take them into Macy’s and let them off leash, we can go into the Irvine Spectrum and allow them to hang out in front of the Improv and other stores. Our Service here in Orange County is the Best, watch the Video and See for Yourself!
